Copyright & Fair Use in Teaching

Do you have questions about using copyrighted materials in your classes? See this guide on Copyright and Fair Use or contact the Dean of the library, Celia Rabinowitz celia.rabinowitz@keene.edu with questions.

Course Reserves

Do you need to make your personal copies (books, CDs and DVDs) or library owned circulating materials available for students to use in the library? Fill out the Course Reserves form below and bring it with your item to the Circulation desk. See the Library’s Policies page for further information on Course Reserves.

How to Schedule a Room/Space

You can schedule library spaces using 25Live. Rooms must be scheduled at least 3 days in advance.  If a room is needed sooner than that please contact a circulation staff member. Please refer to the library hours to make sure the library is open during the time requested.

Library Research Instruction

As Information Literacy experts, the library faculty provide research help and incorporate information literacy curriculum into courses in a variety of ways. Visit this Research & Library Instruction Services guide for information.

Open Educational Resources

Open Educational Resources (OERs) are any type of educational materials that are in the public domain or introduced with an open license. The nature of these open materials means that anyone can legally and freely copy, use, adapt and re-share them. OERs range from textbooks to curricula, syllabi, lecture notes, assignments, tests, projects, audio, video and animation. (UNESCO)

Using OER in even just one course, or part of your course, can lead to incredible cost savings for your students. It also leads to greater academic freedom because you can edit and add your content to suit your needs along with the needs of your students. In fact, you can design activities that encourage students to contribute to OER which empowers them to contribute to the knowledge commons. If you are looking for help with adopting OER materials for your course, finding OER materials, or even creating your own OER, visit our OER Libguide and contact Jenny Darrow (jdarrow@keene.edu).
